Researchers have designed a computer that can read people’s minds by just glancing at the scans of their brains whenever they think about specific words. They believe that this will surely be a breakthrough in analyzing the functionalities of the brain. This study would therefore reveal the fact about storage functions of the brain. We can analyze how and where the brain stores the information. This may in turn lead to treatments regarding language disorders and learning disabilities. All this is possible because of the use of functional magnetic resonance imaging. It is a type of brain scan that can visualize the real time brain activity. The sensing of the words is done by calculating the mean brain activity over all of the words that has been uttered by a person, which gives the average, and this is subtracted from the image that is derived.
